Yoav Kisch tells Knesset plenum that if infection numbers remain low nearly all restrictions will be lifted

One of the surest signs that the coronavirus in Israel is effectively under control was a statement from the country's deputy health minister regarding putting an estimate on the lifting of the remaining restrictions.

“As morbidity continues to decline, we can reach a situation where, in my estimation, in three weeks’ time, the State of Israel will be almost without restrictions and that is an amazing achievement,” Kisch said in the Knesset plenum during a discussion about the virus outbreak, reported The Times of Israel (TOI).

The deputy minister added that from next week, those people with a "Green Pass" - either having received both vaccines or recovered from coronavirus - would be "more or less restriction-free."

Kisch's prediction prompted New Hope Knesset Member Yifat Shasha-Biton to call for the establishment of a special committee to deal with COVID-19. Read more at i24
