Israel said to pay some 40 percent more than US for every dose of Pfizer's inoculation against COVID-19

Israel is set to pay more for the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 coronavirus than the US or European Union states, Israel's Channel 13 reported Sunday.

According to the report, Israel is paying $56 for every inoculation set, which includes two shots that must be delivered to the patient with a gap between them.

This puts the price of a single dose at $28, while the US reportedly only pays $19.50 per shot, and the EU even less than.

In this set-up, Israel pays 40 percent more than the United States does, Channel 13 reported. Furthermore, the deal signed between Israel and the US-based pharma giant reportedly does not include the latter actually committing to the deliveries, which also puts Israel at a disadvantage.
