After the announcement of newer state restrictions, WBAL-TV spoke with the president and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association, Bob Atlas.

He shared insight on what's happening with some hospitals and handling the pandemic.

Atlas said that although coronavirus patients can take up 10% of overall beds, "intensive care units are above 80%, adult acute beds, non-intensive care are pushing 90%." 

For over a week, Maryland has been seeing an increase of coronavirus cases by 1,000 plus, which has also increased hospitalizations. Read more at WBAL
