'I represent Israel’s interests, and there is no difference if it’s a Republican or Democratic administration'

Touting his personal relationship with presumptive US President-elect Joe Biden, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday dismissed claims that he made support for Israel a partisan issue in American politics.

Netanyahu, noted for his uneasy and often testy relationship with former Democratic President Barack Obama, and a warm embrace of the Republican firebrand US President Donald Trump, said he gets along with Democrats as well as with members of the GOP. 

"I represent Israel’s interests, and there is no difference if it’s a Republican or Democratic administration,” he said in a speech at the Knesset (Israeli parliament) on the occasion of the vote to formally ratify the peace treaty with Bahrain.  Read more at i24
