Baltimore, MD - Jan. 4, 2017 - Led by Rabbi Pinchas Gross, a world-class talmid chacham,  Derech Chaim has distinguished itself, in its less than three years of existence, as an exceptional shul for those striving to constantly grow in their avodas Hashem. A short while ago, Derech Chaim took a significant step in its development as a premier makom of Torah VaAvodah by launching a daily night seder (Sunday – Thursday), open to the entire community.

Located in the Derech Chaim Beis Midrash in the Ner Tamid Bearman Chapel, the night seder runs from 8:30-10:15 pm, and is followed by Maariv.

The night seder, already attended by dozens, offers various learning opportunities. There are currently two nightly chaburos, which meet from 9:00-10:15. One is now learning Sotah, and hears a weekly shiur from Rabbi Gross. The other learns Daf Yomi. As a refreshing break from the lightning-quick pace of Daf Yomi, Rabbi Gross gives a monthly in-depth shiur on one of the topics recently covered by the Daf. And, of course, one can come and learn any topic he wishes — with a chavrusah or on his own — and enhance his learning with the warm and vibrant atmosphere of the Beis Midrash. Chavrusos are learning various other mesechtos including Yevamos, Kesuvos, etc.

A unique feature of the night seder is Rabbi Gross's participation. Whatever topic a person is learning, Rabbi Gross is available to answer questions or to talk in learning. And aside from the regular shiurim he delivers to the various chaburos, Rabbi Gross gives two more weekly shiurim. On Monday night, at 9:55 pm, he explores one of the letters of R' Wolbe ZT"L,  each of which is a repository of amazing insight into human nature and avodas Hashem. And on Tuesday night, at 10 pm, Rabbi Gross delves into the words of the Or HaChaim HaKadosh on the parsha. Anyone who takes advantage of any of these opportunities is bound to be amazed by Rabbi Gross's encyclopedic knowledge, clear presentation, and pleasant demeanor.

The physical amenities are also impressive. The Beis Medrash has a brand new and extensive otzer seforim. Parking is never a problem with ample parking spaces on site. Coffee, tea, and other refreshments are available nightly, and cholent is served on Thurday night.

Derech Chaim invites everyone to come and share in the treasure that many have already discovered.
