The names of some of those killed in today’s tragedy, when Mehadrin bus #402 from Yerushalayim to Bnei Brak collided with a truck on the side of the road, have been released.
They are: Yaakov Meir Cheshin, Yisroel Weinberg, Levi Yitzchok Amdari, and Chana Pesha Frankel, Z'L.
The collision took place near the Latrun Interchange, between Ramle and Modiin.
Yaakov Meir Cheshin,Z'L, was 27. He lived with his parents in Ramot, Yerushalayim, and had previously learned at the Nadvorna Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and was close to the Nadvorna Rebbe zt”l. Over the past few years, he learned at the Breslover Kollel in Meah Shearim.
His friends say that Yaakov Meir was an outstanding ben Torah, with special middos, and a noble personality, which endeared him to family and friends. He was on the bus en route to a simchah in Bnei Brak, and spent the bus ride immersed in his learning.
Yisroel Weinberg, Z’L, 26-years-old was a Slonimer Chosid who learned in Slonimer Yeshivos and lived in the Shmuel Hanavi neighborhood of Yerushalayim.
He was travelling to attend the Chasunah of a close relative which is currently taking place in Bnei Braq at the Armonot Friedman Hall.
Levi Yitzchok Amdari, Z”L, 17-years-old was the son of Rav Hillel Amdari one of the prominent members of the Yavniel Breslov community.
A fourth victim is Mrs. Chana Pesha Frankel, 23, the daughter of the Biala Ostrosvtza Rebbe, and daughter-in-law of the Botshan Rebbe.
She was married just two years ago to her husband who was learning in the Mirrer Yeshiva.
She was traveling along with her husband on the bus when the tragic crash occurred on Sunday evening.
A fifth victim of Sunday’s tragic bus crash has been confirmed. Aharon Mordechai Cohen z”l was 18 years old. Aharon Mordechai was a talmid of Yeshivas Bobov in Bnei Brak.
An initial investigation shows that the bus driver, who was lightly injured and was interrogated by police, apparently did not notice a truck on the side of the road, leading to the collision, with six people killed and dozens injured to varying degrees.
