A shooter killed two people and injured eight at Brown University’s Providence, R.I., campus Saturday and the suspect is still at large, the university said.

The injured were at the local hospital in critical but stable condition.

University and local police were on the scene near Barus & Holley, a building that houses the university’s engineering and physics departments, according to campuswide alerts late Saturday afternoon.

Local authorities said an eyewitness saw the suspect—a man dressed in black—exit the building and walk away on foot. The suspect hasn’t been apprehended.

President Trump said he had been briefed on the shooting and that the FBI was on the scene.

Students on the Ivy League university’s campus began their final exam period Friday with exams scheduled at the time of the shooting. The university said it was working to determine who was in the building at the time.

The New York Police Department, meanwhile, said it was deploying extra resources to city universities out of an abundance of caution.
