US President Donald Trump's team has begun tightening security around the President, following the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
The report stated that a Pentagon ceremony to mark the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, was moved to a more secure location as a result.
Additional measures will also be in place when Trump attends a baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees on Thursday evening at Yankee Stadium, according to the report.
Beyond this week's events, said the Wall Street Journal, Trump's team is having broader discussions about how to increase the President's security.
Earlier on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported that the rifle used in Kirk’s murder had ammunition engraved with messages related to pro-transgender issues and “anti-fascist” ideology. Investigators are examining the significance of these findings and the background of the suspect.
The FBI stated that it has clear images of the shooter, who is estimated to be a college-aged individual.
