Baltimore, MD - Aug. 18, 2025 - I'm writing to you today with a very personal request.
My brother Irwin has been battling liver cancer and non-alcoholic cirrhosis. His only curative option at this point is a living donor liver transplant.
The liver is a truly amazing organ—it regenerates. A healthy person can donate a portion of their liver, and it will grow back to full size within weeks. This incredible gift could save Irwin’s life.
We are looking for a healthy individual between the ages of 18 and 60 with blood type A+, A-, O+, or O-.
Irwin is currently being evaluated at several of the nation's top transplant centers, including:
- Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore)
- NYU Langone Health (New York City)
- University of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore)
Irwin’s son, my two son’s and my daughter in-law have already committed to being evaluated as potential donors. Once the transplant center is chosen, they will begin compatibility testing. However, it's common that several candidates are needed before finding the right match, so we are reaching out to the broader community.
If you or someone you know may be willing to consider this selfless act, please contact Irwin directly. The evaluation process is confidential, and all costs are fully covered for the donor.

Even if you’re not eligible or a match, please consider forwarding this message to friends or family. You never know who might be able to help.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your kindness and support.
Sincerely,
Tommy Azman (Irwin’s Brother)
