Baltimore, MD - Feb. 13, 2024  - What an amazing week of basketball from buzzer beaters to full-court shots, we had it all. Thank you to our amazing volunteer coaches and awesome players for showing us all what fun competitive basketball looks like!

 

New Trick-Shot Contest (Sponsored by Holy Smokes BBQ, get your smoked meat fix with mouthwatering Texas-style smokehouse BBQ). How it works: take a video of yourself doing a basketball trick shot (over your house, no-look shot), extra credit for wearing your Believe & Achieve basketball jersey, send it to baleaguehighlights@gmail.com. Best trick-shot wins a $50 Amazon gift card. Every entry gets you in a raffle for another $50 Amazon gift card. Push yourself to do something hard and watch how high you can soar if you believe! Contest ends February 23.

  • Eli Brodie (2nd) Jtap Tennis League with a half-court buzzer beater.
  • Avi Steinberg (8th) Hat Box with an incredible full-court shot after the buzzer.

Inkredible Comeback Kids Game of the Week: MDSC (4th) led by Coach Gary Guttenberg pulled away from the opening tip and quickly went up 11-1. But Clothier, led by Coach/Singer/Baller- Binyamin Guttman, valiantly fought back behind a balanced offensive attack and defensive hustle, and even took the lead heading into the final few minutes! Alas, MDSC got a late basket and was up by two. With three seconds left Clothier got the ball back on a turnover and had a chance for one final play. Ahron Levinger pulled up from deep…and hit the rim as the buzzer expired! What an effort. Great job, enjoy your ice cream from Sprinkles.

Inkredible Comeback Kids of the Week from Week 3: (4th) grade MDSC were missing about half their team so didn't have subs for the whole game. They kept their positive attitude and were able to come together in the second half and find their rhythm. They ultimately did not win this week but showed great sportsmanship and respect during the game and while high-fiving their opponent at the end.
