Baltimore County Police are investigating whether a trio of attempted Hyundai and Kia thefts are connected.
The incidents happened over the weekend around Tarragon Road and Franklin Road in Reisterstown, according to a police spokesperson.
One resident asked to remain anonymous and told FOX45 News his Kia was among the targeted vehicles.
“Saturday morning about 5 o’clock in the morning police knocked on my door,” he said.
The back window to his vehicle had been shattered and the car’s ignition was tampered with, he said.
“The police says it's probably them kids, you know what I mean,” he said. “They’re the ones that’s going around stealing cars.”
On Monday, FOX45 News also spotted a second vehicle, a red Hyundai sedan, parked nearby with plastic covering the back passenger window.
According to Baltimore County Police, there have been 4,127 attempted and successful auto thefts so far this year.
