Stevenson University is currently sheltering in place as police search for a suspect following an altercation.
Both school officials and police emphasized that there is no active shooter.
The school made an announcement on social media.
"Stevenson University Owings Mills Campus is currently sheltering in place. Baltimore County police are on site in pursuit of a suspect from an altercation. In an abundance of caution, Stevenson University Owings Mills Campus remains in a shelter in place condition. Baltimore County police are working with the Stevenson University Campus Safety Office," the announcement said.
Baltimore County police said they are on scene of the campus for a reported assault with injury.
No further information was immediately available.
