Baltimore, MD - Aug. 2, 2023 - The Baltimore Board of Estimates approved more than $80,000 in taxpayer-funded travel for city employees, according to FOX45. . Council President Nick Mosby requested the most cash for his hotel stay during the conference, while Councilman Antonio Glover's lodging request was below the city's per diem rate. The purpose of the conference is to network and showcase Baltimore City's achievements. Additionally, the Department of Health sought nearly $8,000 in reimbursements for officials attending the US Aging Conference and Trade Show in Utah. The Baltimore Police Department also made several travel requests, including inspection trips for new helicopters. Some trips were funded by third parties. The Board of Estimates is chaired by the city council president and includes the mayor, comptroller, city solicitor, and DPW director.
