FOX45 has learned outgoing BPD Commissioner Michael Harrison resigned from his position, with almost a year left on his contract.
However, according to his contract, a 90-day notice was required if there was any intent to end his term early.
Last Thursday, Harrison made the announcement that he was stepping down.
But it is still unknown when or if Harrison provided a 90-day notice to Mayor Brandon Scott.
FOX45 reached out to the Mayor's office for clarification on when the resignation was submitted.
"As a personnel record, we’re unable to share the letter, " said the Mayor's Director of Communications.
Along with the uncertainty of why Harrison resigned, questions remain about the future of MONSE, as Shantay Jackson is set to resign at the end of the month.
Thiru Vignarajah told FOX45, the timing of the changes and uncertainty is not the right time for Baltimore.
“This is a particularly bad time for turmoil and turnover of this kind. We’re on the eve of the killing months of the summer," said Vignarajah.
