United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Yosef Chaim Cohen who lives near King David's Tomb and was one of the first responders at the terror attack reported, "I parked my near my house and heard gunshots and screaming. People ran up to me and shouted, "It's a terror attack, a terror attack. I grabbed my medical equipment and treated three people, two of whom were in serious condition."
Another United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Dani Shmueli responded to the second location of the shooting and reported, "This was a difficult scene and it involved a number of injured in various locations. Many of the people injured were returning from prayers at the Kotel (Western Wall). I treated three people who were lightly injured as my colleagues treated others. Due to the nature of the incident the Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit was dispatched to the scene and treated numerous people for emotional distress and shock."
Moshe Levy another responder from United Hatzalah who responded to the shooting on the bus said, "I've been to a lot of medical emergencies, even to a lot of terror attacks. The sight of the tzitzit covered in blood on the bus and the abandoned baby stroller will be sights that are etched into my memory for many years to come. Together with other responders I treated numerous people for gunshot wounds, some of whom were in serious condition. They told me that they were returning from prayers and were in a lot of distress that this happened."
Four members of one family from Williamsburg – parents and two children – were among those hurt when a terrorist opened fire. At least one victim in is very serious condition.
