A new Gonzales poll shows more than a third of likely democratic voters approve of the State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's job performance.

The survey, which was conducted three weeks ago, found that 38% of those surveyed approve of Mosby's job performance and 51% disapprove.

While those surveyed may approve of Mosby's performance on the job, just 31% say they have a favorable opinion of Mosby herself.

42% have an unfavorable opinion.

Challenger and former federal prosecutor Thiru Vignarajah had the highest favorable opinion with 32%. 16% of those surveyed had an unfavorable opinion.

Challenger and attorney Ivan Bates had a 26% favorable opinion and 16% had an unfavorable opinion.

"Right now, she doesn't have any money and she's that high," said Political Analyst John Dedie.

Dedie says the poll shows Mosby's base of support remains solid and her opponents, he says, have a lot more work to do.

"One hasn't been able to knock the other out," said Dedie.
