Talmon, Israel - June 28, 2022 - In a small ceremony held recently by the natural springs outside Talmon in the Binyamin area of Judea and Samaria, Israel Magen Fund (IMF) founder David Rose presented a fully equipped firefighting ATV to the volunteers in the Binyamin Security Division – the second in a series of four. The ATV, which will be positioned in the Shiloh area, was donated by Dr. Victoria and Paul Sarvadi, from Texas USA. IMF is dedicated to supporting Israel’s medical and security sectors through transparent, direct and communicative giving.

Binyamin Regional Council head Israel Ganz noted that, with over 18,000 emergency calls a month from terror and arson attacks to hiking, biking and car accidents, the volunteers of the Binyamin Security Division are working round the clock. “Now, thanks to this second ATV, the volunteer firefighters and paramedics can reach any incident, regardless of the terrain, and save lives. We have huge problems with fires and arson in the Binyamin region and these ATVs have already proven their worth in saving lives.”

Binyamin Security Division volunteer Ya’acov Dolev demonstrated how they have maximized the ATV’s capabilities. “We have adapted the ATV to not only fight fires, but also to rescue the wounded in terrain that we cannot reach by ambulance. We call it ‘scoop and run’. After stabilizing the injured, the paramedic will transport him on a stretcher in the front of the ATV to the waiting ambulance.”

Vision for Israel founder Barry Segal, representing the Sarvadi family at the ceremony, shared how he had personally been driven from his home in the Jerusalem hills twice by fire. “I am here today, on behalf of the Sarvadi family, to see how we can continue our cooperation with the Israel Magen Fund in putting out fires and saving more lives in the Binyamin area.”

IMF founder David Rose pointed out the dust and dirt on the ATV at the inauguration. “I am delighted to see that this fully-equipped ATV has already had its ‘baptism of fire’. This is what we intended – to provide state-of-the-art tools so that these dedicated volunteers, working around the clock in challenging terrain, can work at maximum efficiency and speed.” Rose committed to raising funds not only for the remaining two ATVs required to service the Kfar Adumim and Ofra areas in the Binyamin area, but also to equip the volunteers with body cameras and drones.
