Baltimore, MD - Mar. 3, 2022 - When the Jewish people were tasked with donating their wealth and valuables towards the construction of the Temple, we are told that the princes of each tribe refrained from giving until everyone else had contributed their share. While these princes are at times criticized for what might be interpreted as seemingly lackadaisical behavior, a more altruistic interpretation of their actions lauds them for committing to giving everything and anything that was still lacking at the end of the day. They were the safety net for the figurative "building campaign" and with their backing, the Jewish people knew they would not fail.

The role of these princes - whoever they were - resonates with me. As an organization that strives to bring unparalleled support to families facing the complexities of pediatric illness, we are not naive enough to think we can do everything or fix anything. As an organization, however, imadi can stand when no one else feels like standing. We can look at our families and say, with earnest and honestly, that we will take care of the rest.

After being in chemotherapy for more than two years, it was finally time to celebrate Pinchos Dov's completion of treatment. Upon the formal "ringing of the bell" ceremony at Johns Hopkins Children's Center, imadi BigSib volunteer Pinny Turner (Talmudical Academy, '22) staged a surprise dance party outside Pinchos Dov's home.
