It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Margulies, zt”l, founder and rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Temimah in Brooklyn, NY.
Rav Margulies was born in Europe and miraculously survived the war, experiencing a string of remarkable nissim. He came over to America with little to his name and began rebuilding his life.
He went on to build an empire of Torah, with numerous mosdos haTorah to his credit. Rav Margulies was the founder of Yeshiva Torah Temimah, Mesivta Torah Temimah, Yeshiva Gedolah Torah Temimah, Mesivta Torah Temimah of Lakewood, Bais Medrash Yam Hatalmud, and Machaneh Mesivta of Silver Lake.
Rav Margulies was a trailblazer in the field of chinuch and harbotzas haTorah, a visionary who overcame numerous obstacles to establish mosdos haTorah of the highest caliber, always dreaming big and aspiring to further kevod Shomayim.
Rav Margulies was predeceased by his devoted wife, Rebbetzin Devorah Margulies, and his eldest son, Rav Menachem Mendel Margulies. He is is survived by his children, Rav and Mrs. Binyomin Margulies, Rav and Mrs. Yisroel Margulies, Rav and Mrs. Yisroel Benedikt, Rav and Mrs. Shmuel Shlesinger, and Rav and Mrs. Mayer Pinkovics.
