Baltimore, MD - Dec. 30, 2021 - Dr. Avi Rosenberg was presented with an award of recognition by Chabad on Call, Chabad’s global medical organization, for his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Chabad on Call hosted an 8-day nomination period during the holiday of Chanukah, where any person nationwide could submit a form to nominate a local healthcare hero.
Dr. Rosenberg is a physician-scientist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
Throughout the past two years of the pandemic, Dr. Rosenberg has served our community with patience, compassion, skill, and courage. He constantly put the welfare of his patients before his own, and placed a special emphasis on assisting schools and camps.
"Despite his daunting responsibilities at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Rosenberg patiently and humbly dedicates so much personal time and effort providing medical guidance and direction to members of the Jewish community from far and near navigating the labyrinth of medical choices and decisions at Johns Hopkins,” said Rabbi Zev Gopin, director of Chabad at Johns Hopkins.
“Chanukah celebrates the victory of the few over the many, the battle of the valiant Maccabees,” added Rabbi Zalman Spitezki, director of Chabad on Call Baltimore (www.cocbaltimore.com), the local branch of Chabad on Call International. “Dr. Rosenberg is a shining example of a modern-day Maccabee. We are privileged to have heroes like him in our community.”
Chabad on Call (www.chabadoncall.com) is Chabad’s organization committed to creating a warm Jewish community within the hospital environment.
