Jerusalem, Israel - Nov. 18, 2021 - The President of Israel Yitzhak Herzog on Tuesday morning hosted the swearing in ceremony of new military judges at the Beit Hanasi in Jerusalem, Israel. At the ceremony for the four military judges the President spoke to the appointed judges and their families assembled in the main hall.

The President began his remarks speaking of the responsibility to stand as a Judge in Israel. "On this day, the burden on your shoulders becomes heavy. From now on, your eyes will be for justice."

Furthermore he added, "The power of the judiciary, the one, you join is in the interest of all who value our democracy. Whoever harms the military and civilian justice system is as if he has harmed the beating heart of the country. Our justice system needs public trust, perhaps more than any other authority."

The President concluded his remarks, "Please do everything to maintain the uniqueness and resilience of the system. Do not be afraid to ask questions and clarify issues to the fullest and fulfill your important mission with the required professionalism, due sensitivity and required dedication."

As noted by the President in his remarks, participating in the ceremony were male and female judges, and a Haredi military judge.  After the official program Herzog remained in the room posing for photos with the small and proud family groups who had been in the audience. The military judge ceremony was similar to those of the Supreme Court Judges, Jewish Dayanim and Muslim Sharia Qadi, all held at the Israeli President's Residence at Beit Hanasi.

Green passes were required to enter and masks were worn by everyone, except briefly during the photo taking sessions.
