In a revealing interview with two nurses from the Beilinson hospital in Petach Tikva, they describe their feelings and experiences during the current wave of COVID-19 which has swept through Israel, causing more than 200 deaths in August so far. The two – a Jewish and Arab nurse working side by side – said that patients are gasping for breath “like a fish out of water” and stressed their frustration that patients could have prevented their life-threatening conditions if they had vaccinated.
The two also detailed their experiences with some of the patients dying from the disease as well as with those who choose to ignore safety precautions and believe that the pandemic is over.
