As the number of the Delta variant cases rise daily, please make sure you are not one of those that contract COVID-19. The virus does not discriminate by age, and it does not only affect people with underlying conditions – healthy people get COVID-19 at varying degrees of severity. Even if you’ve already had COVID-19, experts recommend that you get a vaccine as not everyone has the same immune response. Studies in pregnant women now show the vaccine is safe for mother and baby. Pregnant women have a higher risk of serious issues from COVID, so it’s extra important to be protected. The vaccine will not affect your chances of becoming pregnant. Studies also show that the current vaccines have proven to seriously reduce the chances of hospitalization and severe illness from many of the coronavirus variants, including the more transmissible Delta variant. Getting vaccinated now makes it harder for future variants to develop and multiply.
