The MVA Headquarters in Glen Burnie has been evacuated after a gas line was struck Thursday morning.

Anne Arundel County fire crews, including hazmat units, responded around 10:30 a.m. to the MVA Glen Burnie headquarters in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway for a call of a gas line being struck.

Fire officials say a high-pressure gas line was struck outside of the building. Gas did leak into at least one of the buildings and the fire department is currently ventilating the buildings as well as the surrounding area.

The building has been evacuated.

BGE arrived at 11 a.m. and secured the leak within 25 minutes.

No one has been hurt.

Services are temporarily suspended. Anyone with an appointment will be contacted to reschedule.

There is no word on whether the building will re-open Thursday.
