NYPD Arrests 3 Suspects in Brooklyn Antisemitic Crimes

Boro Park - Three men believed to have participated in two antisemitic incidents in Brooklyn over Shabbos have been arrested and charged with hate crimes.

At 7:45 p.m. Shabbos, two Jewish teenagers were walking on Ocean Parkway at 18th Avenue when they were approached by two men who demanded that the teens say anti-Jewish statements. Former Assemblyman Dov Hikind reported that the assailants demanded the teens say, “Free Palestine.”

The victims refused, at which point the men punching them in their heads; one of the men also put one of the teens in a chokehold. As the victims ran away, as one of the assailants chased them with a baseball bat.

According to Hikind, the victims were rescued by a Muslim Uber driver.

The assailants then fled in a blue Toyota Camry.

Shortly after this incident, the same perpetrators are believed to have driven their Camry to the Agudah shul at 16th Avenue and 49th Street in Boro Park. There, two men spat at, swore at and threatened Jewish men outside the shul, shouting “Free Palestine” and “Kill all the Jews.” When the Jewish men ran inside the shul and locked the door, the perpetrators banged on the door and then broke the mirror of a nearby car.

A third man drove their vehicle and also yelled antisemitic statements. Read more at Hamodia
