Baltimore, MD - May 6, 2021 - In response to the recent Lag Ba’Omer tragedy at Mount Meron in which 45 people were killed and 150 injured,
The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore announced today that it has opened a Mount Meron emergency relief fund to
help the victims of this heartbreaking tragedy.
One hundred percent of the donations collected by The Associated will be distributed to its overseas partner, the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI)
to support the unforeseen mental health costs of the victims. Currently, JAFI is offering extended counseling services for mourners, survivors and
others who have been affected.
"What began as a joyful celebration turned into a devastating loss of life and a time of sorrow," said Marc B. Terrill. "We extend our heartfelt prayers and condolences to those who lost a loved one, and we stand in solidarity with Israel, committed to supporting those who need help during this difficult time."
