Baltimore, MD - Dec. 23, 2020 - BJL regrets to inform the community of the petirah of Mr. Paul Miller, z'l, who was niftar yesterday at the age of 104. If you were a student in Mechinas Ner Yisrael over the past three generations, you will undoubtedly know his name, accompanied by his vibrant smile.
As a child born to Jewish immigrants from Lithuania, Mr. Miller had a passion for teaching, math. Aside for his brilliant mind, he was known for his knack for forging meaningful relationships with his students, always helping those that needed a little extra guidance. His teaching career began in 1934, at the young age of 18; after attending teaching college at what is now known as Baltimore's very own Towson University. He continued teaching for over 80 years after that, 50 of those years at Ner Yisrael. This incredible feat made national headlines in 2011 when he was inducted into the National Teacher Hall of Fame.
His Levaya will be graveside today @ 1:30 PM at Beth Tfiloh Cemetery and is open to the public
