Israel is currently weighing a decision on whether to distribute COVID-19 vaccines to Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip amid a surge in virus infections in the territories.
Deputy Health Minister Yoav Kisch told Israel's public broadcaster Kan on Thursday that the plan would be enacted only if the Jewish state has a surplus of inoculations.
“Israel is ensuring it has more than 100% of the vaccines for Israel,” Kisch said.
“If we see Israel’s needs have been fulfilled and we have more capabilities, we will definitely also consider helping the Palestinian Authority.”
He added, however: “Israeli citizens will come first.” Read more at i24
