MONSEY (VINnews) – A 14 year old Monsey-area boy died this morning in what is believed to be a tragic accident in a private mikvah.
Sources told VIN News that the incident took place at approximately 7:30 this morning at a residence in the Grandview Avenue area of New Hempstead. The boy, identified as Mordche Paneth, Z'L, is believed to have slipped on the stairs as he entered the in-home mikvah, banging his head and falling into the water. He was found approximately an hour later at the bottom of the mikvah.

The boy and his families are believed to have moved to the Monsey area from Borough Park approximately two years ago.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Ramapo Police Department.
