Israel Halts Granting Visas To UN Human Rights Employees

Israel suspended granting of any visas to employees of the United Nations human rights agency, outlet Middle East Eye reported on Thursday.

The move effectively compels the body’s top staff to leave the country, the report added.

In February, the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) released a “blacklist” of 112 companies with activities in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

In response, Jerusalem announced it was suspending ties with the global body.
