Health Ministry data shows that the ultra-Orthodox sector has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic
The Israeli government Sunday evening approved a measure that would see a night-time curfew placed on 40 "red zone" communities across the country.
The so-called "corona cabinet" decision came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met ferocious opposition from leading ultra-Orthodox lawmakers who bristled at the government's original plan to impose full lockdowns on communities found to have high morbidity rates.
