TOMS RIVER (VINnews) — A Toms River man who many believe to have founded the Anti-Semitic Facebook Page “Rise Up Ocean County,” has been sentenced to 60-days in jail on fraud charges.

Richard M. Ciullo, 51, was charged in March with promising services that he never delivered and writing a bad refund check after clients complained.

According to former Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, an incident was reported to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office’s economic crimes unit and Toms River police in May, which has now resulted in Ciullo being charged with theft by deception and passing bad checks.

Coronato explained that Ciullo is alleged to have accepted a $3,000 deposit to provide advertising for several family businesses, however he never performed the services he promised. When the victim asked for a refund, Ciullo knowingly wrote a check for an amount he wouldn’t be able to cover.

Ciullo was first arrested on March 29, but has now been sentenced to 60-days in jail.

According to reports, Ciullo’s sentence will be served in 2-day increments, which means he most likely will spend many weekends in jail.

Ciullo denies affiliation with Rise Up Ocean County. RUOC’s website seems to have several “administrators,” but a dossier recently compiled by an anonymous social media “watchdog” presents pages of evidence that the central figure is a Toms River resident in his mid-50s, Richard Ciullo, according to a report by Hamodia.com.
