Bret Stephens, author of the Wall Street Journal’s “Global View,” a foreign affairs column for which he won the Pulitzer, will speak about U.S. foreign policy and the forces shaping the world, including Israel and the Middle East, at The Associated Women’s event on Thursday, November 12, 7:00 p.m.

The event, open to women only, will be held at the St. John Center at McDonogh School.

Stephens, who has written about global policy for most of his career, joined the Journal in 1998 as an op-ed editor. The following year he moved to Brussels, Belgium where he edited a column on the European Union. He left the paper to become editor of The Jerusalem Post, the youngest editor in chief at the time. There he was responsible for the paper’s news, editorial, international and electronic editions. He returned to the Journal in 2004, where he has won a number of journalism awards. He is also a regular panelist on Fox News’ Journal Editorial Report.

In his recently release book, America in Retreat: The New Isolationism and the Coming Global Disorder, Stephens presents a compelling argument that the United States’ interests are best served by leadership and engagement in global policy.

Associated Women builds community in Baltimore through a variety of events, programs and initiatives for women and provides them an opportunity to invest their philanthropic dollars with a trusted organization.
