A potential good shift may soon be coming with the coronavirus pandemic in Maryland. As the positivity rate decreases daily, the Maryland Health Department has announced 276 new coronavirus cases have been reported, the lowest daily increase since July 6 of last year.

Maryland's current coronavirus positivity rate is 3.06%, the lowest since Oct. 6 of last year.

COVID-19 hospitalizations fall below 800, the first time since March 15. 798 Marylanders are currently hospitalized, 24 less than the previous day.

A total of 8,670 people have been confirmed to have died from COVID-19, a ten-person increase from the previous day. 

Maryland's health department reports 5,256,617 COVID-19 vaccinations thus far, and according to official CDC data, 64.5% of Maryland adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Read more at WBAL
