The number of active COVID-19 cases in Israel fell below 1,000 for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic on Sunday.

The latest data marks the lowest level since last March, while all Israeli cities are now considered “green” due to low infection rates.

According to data from the Health Ministry, there are now 985 active patients with Covid-19 in the country, with only 17 new cases diagnosed in the past 24 hours.

The number of critically ill patients fell below 100 last week, the lowest level since last July. As of Sunday,  84 people considered in critical condition, including 50 on life support.

The Health Ministry data also showed that 5,074,522 people have now received two doses of the vaccine, which represents more than 60% of the total population and more than 80% of the eligible population over the age of 16.

A total of 5,419,308 people received at least one dose.
