Netanyahu donated his blood at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, with hundreds of Israelis around the country also heeding the emergency service's call.

The PM expressed his gratitude to Israelis who took part in the campaign, with hours-long queues forming at blood donation stations in multiple sites.

'In moments that put us to a test, our people stand together, like they do today,' Netanyahu said in a tweet.
