The Maryland Health Department says many people are not being cooperative with contact tracers in an effort to curb the spike in coronavirus cases. 

“There are people who just decline to participate in an interview,” said Dr. Jinlene Chan, the state's acting deputy health secretary. “We are asking very detailed information about where they may have been. Phone numbers are incorrect, or we don’t have the phone numbers, so, of course, that does make it difficult to contact individuals.”

She said the information can save lives.

“If you know that you have a contact with someone who has tested positive within their infectious period, then that will really go a long way to reducing your coming down with the virus,” she said. Read more at WBAL
