Saturday morning, the Maryland Department of Health released the latest recorded coronavirus information. The data showed there were 2,321 more new cases since Friday, making the current total of 164,090 confirmed cases to date.

Saturday marks the 11th straight day coronavirus numbers have increased by more than 1,000. On Friday, the number of new confirmed cases was just over 1,800. Not only has the number of cases increased, but the positivity rate, number of confirmed deaths, and hospitalizations also have increased.

The current positivity rate has increased to 6.16%, up .29% since Friday. There are currently 4,144 confirmed coronavirus related deaths, 149 probable deaths and 921 Marylanders currently hospitalized

In an attempt to help curb the spread of the virus, Gov. Larry Hogan announced a rollback of previous coronavirus regulations. After his announcement, Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski announced more restrictions on restaurants, gatherings and social distancing, as well as youth sports and activities in their respective districts.
