Israel's PM Netanyahu holds second call with Pfizer CEO, touts major progress in talks

Israel will be able to sign a deal to acquire a COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine by US-based Pfizer pharma giant "in the coming days," the Prime Minister's Office announced Thursday.

In a statement for the press, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office said the PM had held a second phone call with Pfizer CEO Albert Burla.

The call, which took place at around 02:00 am Israeli time, or 08:00 pm Wednesday Eastern time, was the second conversation the two had within 24 hours.

Israel's Deputy Attorney General Roi Sheindorf and Pfizer's legal advisor were also on the call "to remove all the barriers and bureaucratic hurdles."
