Israel's Health Ministry announced on Tuesday that the country recorded 3,425 coronavirus cases since Monday, shattering previous records in the daily infection rate.

At least 135,043 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the disease arrived in Israel in March, with 106,294 recoveries. 

Persistent disagreements within the government have led to slow response in how to curb the spread of the deadly disease, which have hit ultra-Orthodox and Arab-Israeli communities the hardest in recent weeks. 

Israel’s coronavirus czar Prof Ronni Gamzu insists that his office is doing everything it can to avoid another nationwide lockdown similar to the one in March and April, but warned: "all options are on the table." Read more at i24
