-- MAJOR ROCKET BARRAGES... The south is experiencing major rocket barrages, extending as far as Netivot, Sderot, Ashkelon, Rechovot, Ramla, and surrounding towns and villages. The volume is extremely high.

-- LARGE ROCKET FIRED... One of the rockets fired was particularly large, resulting in a significant explosion. This rocket struck a building in Rechovot, causing severe damage and injuries (see next). According to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), this was their new Burak 85 long-range, large explosive rocket. They are celebrating this event, seeing the harm caused to innocent civilians as a success.

-- IMPACT... A rocket hit a civilian apartment building in Rechovot. According to Magen David Adom (MDA), there were four injuries: three moderate and one critical (although reports on the exact number and severity of injuries vary). The building is currently being evacuated as it is no longer safe for occupancy.

A woman in her 60s suffered head trauma as a result of a direct missile impact in Rehovot. She is fully conscious. United Hatzalah volunteers are providing initial treatment at the scene. The woman is currently defined as in light condition. Following reports from the neighbors, United Hatzalah volunteers are currently looking for people potentially trapped under the rubble.

A man is trapped under the rubble and in critical condition. Fire crews are currently attempting to extricate him from under the rubble.

In addition, United Hatzalah volunteers have provided initial treatment to five people (including the above-mentioned woman in her 60s) who sustained light injuries as a result of the direct missile hit. United Hatzalah's Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit is also treating numerous people for emotional shock.
