In 2016, Ben Uliel firebombed the house of a Palestinian family

An Israeli court handed Amiram Ben Uliel, a Jewish settler behind the deadly 2015 Duma arson attack in the West Bank, three life jail sentences Monday.

He was also convicted on two counts of attempted murder and two counts of arson, adding 20 years more behind bars on top of that.

In July 2015, Ben Uliel lobbed a petrol bomb into the house of a Palestinian family in the village of Duma, killing an 18-month-old baby and the child's parents.

In early 2016, Ben Uliel was arrested along with a second suspect, whose name was not revealed to the public as the individual was a minor. 

In the early stages of the investigation, Ben Uliel was also charged with membership of a terrorist organization -- a charge that the court struck down later on. Read more at i24
