Artist aleXsandro Palombo created a series of murals called "Track 21 The Simpsons deported to Auschwitz" at the Holocaust Memorial in Milan, Italy. i24 News reports the murals depict the famous cartoon family as prisoners in Nazi concentration camps during the Holocaust. The site was a former station en route to the camps. The first mural portrays the family before deportation, while the second depicts them as emaciated and stripped of dignity. The artist aims to transmit the horror of the Jewish genocide to future generations through art as a powerful antidote against oblivion. Palombo has previously tackled the theme of the Holocaust in his works, which have been analyzed by Israeli historian Batya Brutin.
