AstraZeneca vaccine cheaper and easier to store than Pfizer's, but less effective in trial

The World Health Organization (WHO) approved on Monday the COVID-19 coronavirus vaccine developed and produced by AstraZeneca and the Oxford University for emergency use.

The WHO gave the green light to two versions of the jab, produced respectively in India and South Korea.

The vaccine will be made accessible for developing countries via the so-called Covax program, the global health body said.

The WHO's emergency use authorization is granted to confirm the quality, safety and efficacy of the vaccine and is a must for any jabs in the Covax pool. Read more at i24
