The US-United Arab Emirates arms deal involving the sale of advanced F-35 fighter jets is highly likely to be completed after a review from the administration of US President Joe Biden, UAE envoy to the US said on Monday.

Speaking at a Washington Institute event, Ambassador Yousef Al-Otaiba expressed his confidence in an eventual approval for the $23 billion deal struck by Biden's predecessor former President Donald Trump.

In January, the Biden administration suspended this arms sale and a number of other deals, including a sale of munitions and other military hardware to Saudi Arabia.
