The WSJ reports that Secretary of State Antony Blinken's trip to Beijing has been postponed due to a detected Chinese reconnaissance balloon over the continental US. The Pentagon considered shooting it down, but did not due to safety concerns. The Chinese Foreign Ministry denied it was a spy vehicle and said it was a civilian balloon for meteorological study that had gone off course. China intends to communicate with the US to resolve the situation. Blinken's trip was expected to be held over Sunday and Monday.
