Yom Kippur prayers in Meir Garden in Tel Aviv can take place with partitions to separate men and women, Israel’s High Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday.
The ruling was part of an appeal against the decision that prohibited how the prayer would be held.
Justices Mintz, Grosskopf, and Kasher issued the High Court ruling, which stated that the Tel Aviv municipality is authorized to make arrangements for the Yom Kippur prayer to separate based on gender using partitions at the request of the appellants.
The appellant, the Rosh Yehudi association, welcomed the decision, N12 reported. In their statement quoted by N12, they said, “Tel Aviv is part of the Jewish state, and those who wish to pray separately with a partition will be able to do so...Judaism is stronger...
Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida Wednesday, bringing hurricane-force winds, life-threatening storm surge and heavy rain to a region that was pummeled by Hurricane Helene less than two weeks ago.
The storm hit near Siesta Key, Fla., in Sarasota County around 8:30 p.m. E.T. as a Category 3 hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said.
Before making landfall, Milton hammered Florida with several inches of rain, heavy winds, storm surge and tornadoes. The National Weather Service on Wednesday issued Florida a record number of tornado warnings, which indicate a twister has been spotted or detected by radar. The storm is likely to exacerbate the devastation wrought by Helene, which tore a path of death and destruction across several states in late September.

Izzat al-Rishq, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, ruled out the possibility of an agreement with Israel under which the leadership of Hamas in the Gaza Strip will be deported to Sudan.
"Deporting Hamas or its leaders from Gaza is an Israeli dream and illusion that will not come true," he stated.
"The report in one of the enemy's newspapers regarding the deportation of Hamas leaders to Sudan is a stupid statement," al-Rishq said. "We said in the past and we repeat and say now, that Hamas is in Palestine, fighting the enemy that is occupying Palestine."
He added that "logic requires that the criminal occupier leave and the original inhabitants of the land remain."
The Hamas official’s comments follow a report on Reshet Bet radio which said that, in September...
