Schools fully reopen for students from all classes as new coronavirus infections drop below 100

Starting from Sunday, Israelis do not have to wear face masks outside as the government officially scrapped the rule amid declining COVID-19 coronavirus infections.

The enforcement of the mandate has been lax in the past few weeks, with the police reportedly instructed to keep it this way by the top brass.

Under the new rules, effective since 00:00 Sunday, face masks are still a must in indoor public spaces. The ministry also recommends keeping them on outside and at large social gatherings.

Sunday is also the first day all of Israel's students return to class as the guidelines for educational institutions have been changed as well. Read more at i24
