Resolutions hailing Abraham Accords gain traction in both chambers of Congress

The lawmakers in both chambers of the US Congress backed the historic Abraham Accords paving the way to normalization between Israel and Bahrain and the UAE in bipartisan resolutions.

The two resolutions were revealed Wednesday by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which hailed the bipartisan majorities co-sponsoring the document.

The Senate motion was introduced by South Carolina Republican Lindsay Graham, Indiana Republican Todd Young, New Jersey Democrat Bob Menendez and Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin.

The resolution, which calls for a two-state solution and urges Arab states to normalize ties with Israel, gained massive traction, gathering 91 signatures in the 100-seat chamber.  Read more at i24
