Annapolis, MD - Feb. 8, 2025 - Numerous lawmakers in Maryland, including leaders in the General Assembly, are proposing different pieces of legislation aimed to address the state's growing energy crisis.
On Monday, Senate President Bill Ferguson and House Speaker Adrienne Jones, and other lawmakers, unveiled a package of legislation aimed at reducing the price of energy for residents across the state, while increasing the amount of energy generated in the state of Maryland. This as the demand from data centers and electrification increase, at the same time power plants like Brandon Shores are expected to retire in the near future. Currently Maryland imports about 40 percent of it's energy from other states.
“We recognize that renewable energy is the future but we al...
Baltimore, MD - Feb. 8, 2025 - President Donald Trump on Friday announced his plans to remove several board members of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, including Orioles owner David Rubenstein as chairman.
In his post on Truth Social, Trump announced that he would install himself as Rubenstein’s successor.
“At my direction, we are going to make the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., GREAT AGAIN,” Trump wrote. “I have decided to immediately terminate multiple individuals from the Board of Trustees, including the Chairman, who do not share our Vision for a Golden Age in Arts and Culture. We will soon announce a new Board, with an amazing Chairman, DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Annapolis, MD - Feb. 8, 2025 - Arguing there are downsides to downsizing, in Governor Wes Moore’s first State of the State address he pledged to fill vacancies and grow state government.
“Building a workforce of dedicated public servants saves us the expense of costly contractors and external vendors, and if properly managed, delivers us better results. Spending $100 million on inefficiencies and patch work politics is not the way to run a government,” Moore said.
A promise he’s already followed through on. On Tuesday, FOX45 reported on data sourced from the Maryland Department of Labor’s website, showing under Governor Wes Moore’s administration, the state’s workforce grew by more than 5,000 employees. Comparatively, during former Gov...

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar posted a video accusing Hamas of starving the hostages released today, claiming they looked dangerously emaciated while the Hamas forces appeared well-fed.
''For over a year, the international community has danced to the tune of the false propaganda of so-called starvation in Gaza but the images we saw today don't lie - Hamas terrorists and other Gaza residents look perfectly fine.''
''The Israeli hostages look like Holocaust survivors. Today, we saw that the only starvation is the starvation of Israeli hostages,'' he accused.
''Hamas is committing crimes against humanity, against civilian hostages, and this Hamas Nazi evil must be eliminated,'' Sa'ar concluded.
President Isaac Herzog:This is what a crime against humanity looks like! The whole world must look directly at Ohad, Or, and Eli—returning after 491 days of [Gehinom], starved, emaciated and pained—being exploited in a cynical and cruel spectacle by vile murderers. We take solace in the fact that they are being returned alive to the arms of their loved ones.Since her release from captivity, Raz, Ohad’s wife, along with their three brave daughters—Yulie, Ella, and Natalie—have led a determined struggle in Israel and around the world for his return. Or and his wife Einav came to celebrate at the Nova festival. Hamas terrorists murdered Einav and abducted Or to Gaza. Their son, Almog—"Mogi"—only three years old, was cared for by their loving fami...
Tel Aviv, Israel - Feb. 8, 2025 - Eli Sharabi, Ohad Ben-Ami, and Or Levy were released Saturday morning from Hamas captivity. The three looked gaunt and are in poor physical health, but were forced to thank their captors for "treating" them.
Eli Sharabi, who turns 53 next week, was kidnapped from his home in Kibbutz Be'eri on the morning of October 7th. He lost his entire immediate family in the massacre: His wife Leanne and two daughters Yahel and Noya were murdered by Hamas terrorists. His brother, Yossi Sharabi, was also kidnapped on October 7th, and was declared dead during his time in captivity, after he was accidentally killed when the IDF struck the building he was being held in. His body is still held in Gaza.
Eli's brother Sharon Sharabi told Kan News: "Eli i...

The US poured "hundreds of millions of dollars" into Hamas, Republican Senator Ted Cruz told The Daily Caller following news of the Trump administration's pause on foreign aid. The Trump administration had paused the foreign funds to review if aid allocation was aligned with his foreign policy.
“They secretly poured literally uncountable hundreds of millions of dollars toward Hamas, including tens of millions of cash they could never account for,” Cruz said.
"Throughout the Biden admin, they knew the money they were pouring into Gaza would benefit Hamas," the Texas senator wrote in a post to X/Twitter. "They did it anyway."
The Daily Caller reported that over $1.3 billion in US taxpayer funds during the Biden presidency ended up funding gr...
Baltimore, MD - Feb. 7, 2025 - Former Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has been ordered to repay a $2 million business loan, according to court documents.
The court order comes after the lender, Old National Bank, sued the former mayor who was listed as a guarantor with Gulf Coast Technology Corporation, the consulting company that received the loan, according to The Baltimore Banner.
The loan was issued in November 2023 under a contract in which Rawlings-Blake said she would repay the loan if the consulting company did not.
Court documents showed that the company at one point agreed to repay the loan in $28,000 monthly payments with a 3% interest rate, The Banner reported.
According to the latest court order, issued on Jan. 22, 2025, Rawlings-Blake must repay...

A Hezbollah field commander, Abbas Haidar, was killed on Friday morning along with several members of his family, in an explosion in Tayr Harfa, located in southern Lebanon.
Avichay Adraee, head of the Arab media division of the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, stated that according to information available to the IDF, they were killed as a result of an explosion of an IED belonging to Hezbollah.
The explosive was intended to be used against Israel, but it detonated, killing the Hezbollah field commander and his family members, said Adraee.
"I remind the Lebanese that Hezbollah's weapons are a double-edged sword, endangering mainly the residents of Lebanon and even Hezbollah members themselves. Stay away from Hezbollah's weapons!" Adraee added.

Hardened criminals in Pennsylvania undertook a daring heist this week to steal goods increasingly precious: eggs.
One hundred thousand of them.
The theft, worth approximately $40,000, was described as “extremely rare” by a police spokeswoman, who suggested the night-time raid may be tied to the soaring cost of eggs in the US sparked largely by the biggest bird flu outbreak in a decade.
For Donald Trump, a president who made bringing down the price of groceries a key plank of his election campaign, egg prices could become a problem.
The average price per dozen eggs hit $4.15 (£3.34) in December – not far off the $4.82 record set two years ago – and is expected to soar a further 20 per cent this year, according to the Agriculture Department.

Authorities in Alaska are searching for a commercial passenger plane that went missing in freezing, windy conditions over the Bering Sea, the third major U.S. aviation incident in the past 10 days.
The single-engine plane operated by regional carrier Bering Air had nine passengers and a pilot on board when its position was lost at around 3:20 p.m. local time Thursday, according to the Alaska Department of Public Safety.
The Coast Guard, U.S. Air Force and National Guard were involved in an air and land search for the plane, which was roughly 12 miles offshore when its position was lost, authorities said. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was trying to track the passengers through their cellphones, according to the local fire department.
The incident comes just over a week after...
